Argonne National Laboratory is a controlled-access facility. You will need a visitor gate pass or a valid user badge to enter the Argonne campus.  Effective May 3, 2023, a Real ID will be required to gain access to the Laboratory for any individual who is 18 years of age or older.  Please refer to the Site Entry Requirements for further information.

You must notify your user facility or host of your visit in advance to arrange site access. Your gate pass can be issued at the Argonne Information Center (AIC), Building 224, M-F, 6:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (or at the Main Gate on Northgate Road during off hours and weekends). If you will be issued a user photo badge, your badge can be issued at the AIC M-F from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. You will be allowed site access through the expiration date on the site access credential that you are issued.
